Introduction to Integrated Production Modeling and Case Studies

The main objectives of modeling flows of production fluids in wells, pipelines and risers are: to predict the pressure drops, the phase distributions, the potential for unsteady phase delivery (commonly referred to as slugging) and the thermal characteristics of the system. The key point from Integrated Production Modeling is that we eliminate fix boundary conditions as we can from the interconnected components, e.g. we don’t control by a fix rate, a fixed BHP, or fixed THP, but through a common sink constraint and other boundary conditions are dynamically calculated.
