This presentation will cover the current status of carbon capture and storage technologies and provide an update on US and global projects of interest. Participants will learn about subsurface technical aspects of CO2 storage in saline formations, with some discussion of enhanced oil recovery. A primary focus will be on the SPE developed “Storage Resource Management System – SRMS”, similar to the PRMS for petroleum and the financial mechanisms currently available in Section 45Q Federal tax credits for establishing financially viable projects in the near-term.
