Course Credit: 0.1 CEU, 1 PDH

Suitable reservoir fluid property models are integral to successful flow assurance system simulation and design during field development planning and for asset optimization after production has commenced. These fluid models are often tuned and optimized to match fluid property measurements completed on reservoir fluid samples obtained either during exploration, appraisal, and development well drilling, logging, and testing operations or during production operations. It is therefore critical to understand the pros and cons of various sampling methods to insure reliable and accurate fluid property data and corresponding models are developed.

In this talk, an overview of available reservoir fluid sampling methods will be provided with an emphasis on recent developments related to subsea sampling. Guidance will be provided on recommended sampling practices for flow assurance related characterization processes.
