The Midwest Regional Carbon Sequestration Partnership (MRCSP) has successfully stored 1.6 million metric tons (MT) of CO2 in conjunction with Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) operations within Niagaran pinnacle reefs in Otsego County, Michigan. Although Battelle started monitoring CO2 injection and production at the EOR complex during 2013, CO2-EOR activities began at the site in 1996. Site characterization, monitoring, and modeling work was conducted at ten CO2-EOR reefs in different stages of their production life cycle. This webinar will provide an overview of the accounting methodology for a distributed CO2-EOR field network, the development of a Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) plan, and the emissions life cycle analysis (LCA).
