Functional Emulsion Polymers for Reuse of Produced Waters in Stimulation
January 26, 2023The increased focus to preserve freshwater resources in stimulation operations is directing operators to reuse produced water. This shift has also led to an increasing need for friction reducers that will function in a variety of source waters, including waters with high TDS’ and high concentrations of divalent ions.
Kemira’s new polymer technology functions in a broad range of source waters and have exceptional performance under produced water conditions. Allowing for greater flexibility in changing source waters without sacrificing performance.
The wide operating window also allows for an increase in the use of produced water in frac operations and can cut down on freshwater usage and disposal costs, and improve the sustainability of the operation
