One of the biggest challenges in well construction is getting primary cementing right the first time. Costs to remediate a poor primary cementing job are well documented. Depending upon the location, the cost can be extremely impactful to the economics of a well. Historically, the practices used in primary cementing are part of the discussions that cement engineers and drilling engineers have around what practices should be used as part of the primary cementing process.
