The industry is currently experiencing a shortage in experience and skill set backgrounds. After two years of limited drilling, automation can help provide consistent, repeatable results out of the gate. Forming and implementing parameter roadmaps is a predominately manual process, with potential for error in execution. Automating the process reduces human variability and sets the stage for next-level performance improvement by integrating additional technology that addresses a multitude of drilling challenges: reducing BHA failures, active stick slip mitigation, reducing drilling dysfunction, and enabling smooth drilling. This Tech Talk will discuss how automation helps combat the skillset shortage and lack of experience by reducing human dependency as well as the benefit in driving more predictable, consistent outcomes by combining multiple technologies to reduce the risk of BHA failure.
