Discusses the effect of the borehole environment on coring, and how to select the appropriate coring fluid. Compares and contrasts conventional full diameter coring with percussion and rotary sidewall coring. Describes the optimal core sample handling and shipping procedures to preserve representative reservoir rock samples for laboratory analyses.
