Amber CarterSpeakerAmber Carter, Director of Human Resources at GTI Energy, is passionate about driving diversity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) initiatives. She has been instrumental in implementing progressive policies, including miscarriage, adoption, and gender transition policies, to support employees through life-changing events. Amber's dedication extends beyond policy implementation; she actively advocates for a workplace culture that embraces individuals from all walks of life. Drawing from her extensive experience at Target Corporation, Hubbell Lighting, and Komatsu, Amber brings a strategic perspective to her role. She has championed the development of employee support programs, implemented comprehensive training and education initiatives. Committed to continuous improvement, Amber regularly seeks feedback from employees to refine DEIA efforts and ensure responsiveness to evolving needs. She remains steadfast in her commitment to championing DEIA strategies and amplifying the voices of marginalized groups.
Lourdes GuinazuModeratorLourdes works as Operation Manager in Brent Energia y Servicios in Argentina. She has more than 20 years of experience in the energy industry holding roles of increasing responsibility in different countries and companies. She is also a professor for the Petroleum Engineering major and, consequently, an advocate of STEM education. She holds a Petroleum Engineering and Project Manager degrees from the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo (Argentina) and a diploma in Women Business Leadership from IESE (Spain). She has been a member of the SPE since she was a student. She has been volunteering in different committees and sections. Currently, she is the Chair for the SPE Patagonia Section (Argentina) and the Chair for the SPE D&I Standing Committee. In 2021 she received the SPE Regional Management award for Latin America and the Caribbean.
Lisa LeongSpeakerLisa Leong is currently the Program Integration Manager in Chevron’s corporate Diversity, Inclusion, and Ombuds (DIO). She graduated from UC Davis and worked with Chevron in different jobs, including working with Chevron’s Information Technology Center (ITC) from 2012 through most of 2020. Before that, she spent 16 years with Project Resources Company (PRC), working on CSOC and major capital projects. She started with Chevron in 1988 as a civil engineer.
Patricia E. Carreras SpeakerPatricia E. Carreras is the general director of the energy consulting company Blue Moon Strategies. She has more than 25 years of international experience leading and advising majors and independent energy companies on field development planning leveraging reservoir simulation. Additionally, she is a public speaker, mentor, and coach on topics of sustainable development, leadership, diversity and inclusion, and cross-cultural effectiveness. Carreras has worked based in the USA, Mexico, and Argentina. She is an active member of SPE, currently serving as 2022–2023 chair for the Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) Committee. She is a past member of the SPE Business Management and Leadership Committee (BMLC). Carreras is one of the authors of the first-ever D&I survey launched by the BMLC in May 2020. She is the chair of the SPE Gulf Coast Section (GCS) Continuing Education Committee, which received the 2021–2022 SPE GCS Outstanding Committee award under her tenure. Carreras received the 2020–2021 SPE GCS Exemplary Volunteer award. She holds a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Buenos Aires and a master’s degree in petroleum engineering from Texas A&M University. She successfully completed the Business Sustainability Management training from the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) in 2022.
