The importance of hydrogen continues to grow in the world’s pathway to a net-zero future; progress has been made in developing the hydrogen value chain, but there are several challenges to overcome, mainly related to cost reduction, regulations, infrastructures, and technical risks. Over the years Tenaris has been consolidating its technical expertise to develop key competencies and the technologies required to ensure reliable solutions to support the deployment of hydrogen storage and transportation and in 2021 launched its THera™ materials technology for hydrogen applications. In this episode, Tenaris experts illustrate the challenges and the latest advanced material testing characterization required to ensure high-performance materials in hydrogen environments and design reliable solutions for both hydrogen storage and transportation.
