Have you ever wondered what courses or training programs would best supplement or give you a competitive edge in your petroleum engineering experience? Representatives from Texas A&M, Colorado School of Mines, the University of Tulsa, and the University of Texas will present their continuing education offerings related to the energy industry. Participants will discover how these schools create programming to keep up with the rapidly evolving industry, and will receive an overview of different training options, and recommendations for lifelong learning based on different career aiming points, advancing their technical and/or managerial skills.

She has technical and commercial experience spanning the entire energy value
chain. Amanda is the Growth and Development Lead for the SPE Calgary Young
Professionals, is a board director for the CanLearn Society for Persons with Learning
Difficulties and is on her local government’s Calgary Salutes committee. Amanda
has an MBA specializing in Finance from Queen’s University and received the Dean’s
Gold Medal for the highest academic achievement in her MBA class. She has a
Chemical Engineering degree with a minor in Petroleum Engineering from the
University of Calgary and a Sustainability in Energy micro-credential from Evaluate
Energy.
Dr. Miskimins specializes in well completions, stimulation, hydraulic fracturing, and associated production issues. She is the founder and current Director of the Fracturing, Acidizing, Stimulation Technology (FAST) Consortium and also co-directs the Center for Earth Materials, Mechanics, and Characterization (CEMMC). Her research interest focus on the optimization of stimulation treatments and the importance of such on associated recovery efficiencies.
Dr. Miskimins served as the first Completions Technical Director on the SPE International Board of Directors from 2016-2018. She was an SPE Distinguished Lecturer in 2010-2011 and 2013-2014 on hydraulic fracturing in unconventional reservoirs. Dr. Miskimins serves on a variety of conference organizing committees, including the SPE Hydraulic Fracturing Technical Conference and Exhibition, and as a technical editor for various journals. She is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Colorado (License #36193).
