Formation Damage Mechanisms, Prevention and Remediation

This presentation will review different mechanisms that can result in formation damage during well completion, stimulation and production operations. Completion strategies and fluid selection/design methodologies that need to be followed in order to prevent formation damage in different formation types will be discussed. Identification of potential damage mechanisms in an underperforming well, and remedial methods that should be applied targeting the specific type of damage will be explained considering the formation characteristics.
