Russell StevensLufkinWith over 35 years in the artificial lift field, Russell Stevens has specialized in design, optimization, and failure analysis for sucker rod lift systems. An accomplished problem-solver with demonstrated knowledge and experience, Stevens has helped oil & gas companies around the World initiate and implement programs that identify and reduce failures associated with the artificial lift system. Russell is highly competent in areas of materials selection, design and optimization, sucker rod inspection and quality systems, corrosion and failure cause analysis. Stevens is responsible for reciprocating rod lift design and optimization, training, and failure analysis. He is a member of SPE, NACE, ASM and API’s Sub-Committee 11 on “Field Operating Equipment.” He served on various API Task Groups concerning the specifications and recommended practices for pumping units, subsurface pumps and sucker rods and is the past chairman for the newly revised API 11B on sucker rod specifications. In 2014, Russell was the recipient of the JC Slonneger Award presented by the Southwestern Petroleum Short Course and sponsored by the Petroleum Industry of West Texas in cooperation with the Texas Tech’s Department of Petroleum Engineering.
Simon Suarez - ModeratorLufkinSimon holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Universidad del Zulia in Maracaibo, Venezuela. He was also a Fulbright Scholarship recipient from 2009-2011 and attained a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Houston. He brings over 15 years of expertise and knowledge from a variety of roles within the Energy industry environment. His vast international and multiple business and leadership experiences makes him a strong addition to any team. Simon began his career in 2007 working as a Sales & Applications Engineer with Weatherford. Since then, he held multiple technical and leadership roles in Artificial Lift Systems (ALS) operations, sales, and product line management in Houston, Midland, Venezuela, Mexico and throughout Latin America. In 2019, he became Weatherford's Global Business Director for Production and in 2021 he joined Silverwell as their Western Hemisphere Sales Manager.
