Digital Twins for Geothermal Operations – Decision Modeling
This webinar reviews the need to construct digital twins to support decisions made in the geothermal (and other renewables) energy domain. The focus is on rapid, high-level techno-economic assessment (including carbon budgets) of projects supporting go/no-go, design, and operational decisions. Geothermal energy is the focus because such projects offer the potential of (previously undervalued) multiple cascading revenue streams that strongly influence the techno-economic picture. Justifications for taking this approach and describe use-cases where it can be applied is shown. One particular Texas Gulf coast use case is presented, as well as how varying key parameters can influence the results and thus the decisions made, including the impact of various cascading subsystems on the overall picture.
